2. An attenuator has a loss of 26 dB. If a power of 2 W is applied to the attenuator, find
the output power.
1. ratio is 4000/100 = 40
dB = 10 log 40 = 16 dB
dB = 10 log ratio
26 = 10 log ratio
ratio = 398
2w / 398 = 0.00502 watts = 5.02 mW
