Im getting horrible feedback from my guitar amp when I use distortion. What can I do to fix this?
I'm playing a Satriani signature guitar, through a Marshall JTM 45 head with 4x12 cab. And Boss GT-10 digital effects processor. When I turn on distortion, even if it is a little bit, and have my amp past 4, I get this horrible feed back that I cant control. I've tried to move far away from the amp, switching cords, switching guitars, switching speakers, and nothing seems to work. I can keep the distortion on and get a hardly noticeable distortion, but mostly Clean sound, I wont get that feedback as bad, but once I turn up the gain or the level, I cant even get a sound but the bleeding screech of the amp.
What can I do to fix this?
You've got the gain set too high somewhere. You can also try turning down the volume on the guitar itself.
