Can you recover or re-skin a Marshall head and cabinet?
My Marshall head and cabinet's skin covering (I don't know the actual name for it) is falling off. You know, the black stuff that covers it all. It isn't really that noticeable until you get up close. But I was wondering if its possible to strip it down to just the wood and then reskin or recover the amp head and cab.
If it is, does anyone know how this would be done? And where I could get the material?
What I am looking to do is reskin or recover the amp in white or some odd color besides black, to be different, to have a one of a kind amp.
It's Tolex you're after. Yes it's do-able, but you may be better off getting someone else to do it for you (ask around in music stores).

You can buy your own material – but I don't know how much you'd need if you're doing the amp and the cab.
